Rishi Shipping dedicates floating cranes to Kandla Port

Kandla : Rishi Shipping has imported two Liber Floating Cranes from Germany. Out of them, one floating crane started operation and second will be in operation from Sept.
 
At an inaugural ceremony organized by Rishi Shipping at Passenger Jetty-II, Kandla Port on Friday 27th July, Chief Guests of the function, Shri Vijay Chibber, Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Minsitry of Shipping and Dr. U.S.Awasthi, Managing Director, IFFCO, in the August presence of Dr. P. D. Vaghela, Chairman and Mr. M. A. Bhaskarachar, Deputy Chairman, and Trustees of KPT, dedicated the Cranes to KPT and the nation. It was well-attended by Port users, HoDs. of KPT, Officers of IFFCO, and Kandla Customs and of course “Rishi Shipping family” headed by Shri B. K. Mansukhani, Director of the Company.
 
Now, Kandla Port is ready in all respects to handle gearless Panamax and Cape size vessels without any restriction of length of ship(LOA) and arrival draft vessels of 300 Mtrs. LOA  and 16 Mtrs. Drafts will now be calling at Kandla. This is the big achievement of Kandla Port. 
 
Shri B. K. Mansukhani, while addressing the gathering congratulated the Dr. P. D.Vaghela, on this achievement and expressed his gratitude for this achievement. “Bigger the vessel, lesser the freight and freight of vessel also depends on turn around of vessel” Shri Mansukhani added. He also thanked the Trustees of KPT especially Shri Yogesh Mehta.
 
Dr. U. S. Awasthi, Managing Director, IFFCO congratulated Shri Mansukhani and Dr.Vaghela,  and  said, “This has further strengthened the infrastructure facility of the Port and in addition to coastal movement of Coal by making Kandla a coal Hub, it will be advantageous for IFFCO also, as the fertilizer products i.e.urea, DAP etc.can be handled through such bigger vessels at a lesser freight.”
 
Shri Vijay Chibber, Special Sec. & F.A., Ministry of Shipping in his speech also congratulated Shri Mansukhani and Dr. Vaghela on this achievement and shared his experience of his visit and three months stay at Kandla, at the time of earthquake.
 
Dr. P. D.Vaghela, the dynamic Chairman of KPT, who had dreamed to handle gearless Panamax and Cape size vessels informed that such larger sized vessels are being discharged at only three private ports namely Mundra, Krishnapatnam, and Gangavaram and now Kandla has become the first Major Port in India to handle Cape size vessel. He commended the initiative taken by Shri Mansukhani in making this dream come true, by providing Liber float Cranes and congratulated “Rishi Shipping family”.
 
Some of the Port users, i.e Shri Mohan Karia, Shri Pranesh Rathod, Shri Yogesh Mehta, Shri Mitesh Dharamsi etc.extended their warm feelings to Shri Mansukhani by presenting the bouquet. Welcome speech was delivered by Smt Neetu Mansukhani and vote of thanks offered by Shri Rishi Mansukhani.
