Mumbai - Indian exporters could gain from the gradual return of large container vessels to the Suez Canal, as the shorter Asia-Europe and Asia-US East Coast routes offer the potential for lower shipping costs and faster transit times.

The return of mega container ships marks a significant shift after carriers diverted much of their traffic around the Cape of Good Hope because of security risks in the Red Sea. CMA CGM has been among the carriers taking steps to restore Suez routings, while other major operators remain more cautious.
