MUMBAI: JSW Infrastructure Limited has successfully developed and operating 2 Ports in Maharashtra (Jaigarh and Dharamtar) and one terminal at Major Port in Goa with total installed capacity of 33 MTPA. Since inception the group has successfully handled more than 100 MMT of various types of cargo.
It is rapidly expanding its capacity from present 33 MTPA to 200 MTPA by 2020 through Greenfield and Brownfield expansions.
JSW Jaigarh Port - a modern, mechanized, environment friendly deep water port (20 mtrs) in Maharashtra has handled large Cape Size Vessel (200000 DWT) and is getting ready for a giant leap from the existing 15 MTPA to 65 MTPA capacity, by taking on the largest Dry Bulk Carrier (Vale Max), LNG Carrier (Q - Max), Container Vessel (EEE Series - 18000 TEUs) & Very Large Crude Carriers (340000 MT) with active Government support, as informed by Capt. BVJK Sharma.
It has recently signed share holders agreement to develop Jaigarh-Digni rail linkage with KRCL along with MMB under JV model of Indian Railway's participative policy.
It has signed Agreement with MMB for development of Jaigarh-Nivali road connectivity It has tied up a JV partner for development of dedicated LNG terminal.
The talks are on with JV partner/ sub-concessionaire for dedicated Container Terminal
The Port has ambitious expansion plans. Additional berths are under construction along with robust high performance material handling systems. Dredged draught is 18.5 m enabling berthing of Capesize Vessels.
Jaigarh Port added one more feather in its cap becoming the first Port on 720 Km. long western coast of Maharashtra when MV Indian Friendship carrying 168000 MT Steam Coal of JSW Energy, first Capesize Vessel berthed at Jaigarh Port on 17th April 2015.
