“THE TRUE MEANING OF LIFE IS TO PLANT TREES, UNDER WHOSE SHADE YOU DO NOT EXPECT TO SIT.”
This is the 2nd consecutive year, HMM Shipping India Pvt Ltd, subsidiary of South Korean Shipping Company HMM has organised a tree plantation drive in collaboration with Green Yatra, a leading environmental NGO, as a part of ESG/Corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity.
HMM CSR action took place on 30th November 2024 at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

In this plantation drive HMM planted 2000 plants, more than 35 types of species and used the Miyawaki Method invented by Japanese botanist and expert in plant ecology Dr. Akira Miyawaki.
“This method is 100% natural, native & organic as well allows plants to grow in less time and space, said HMM in a statement. This method helps to achieve Carbon Neutrality and reduce carbon emissions, while it also helps in climate change mitigation. It increases Urban Biodiversity. It filters urban pollutants and give fresh Oxygen.”
