

GANDHIDHAM: Shri S.K. Mehta, IFS, Chairman, Deendayal Port Trust showcased various Port Expansion projects being undertaken by DPT under Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP) and initiatives for Digitization of Port Land and put forward the projects envisaged by the Port towards long term Vision @ 2047 for Smart Port initiatives.
Chairman, DPT also highlighted DPT’s multipronged approach for improving the efficiency parameters through smart equipments at the Terminals, paperless operations and Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) by way of engagement with stakeholders.
He enumerated automation projects taken up by DPT viz. EBS, E-Office, E-Drishti, Application based Parking Plaza, CCTV & RFID enabled Gate Entry System.
Hon’ble Minister appreciated the number of multi-modal connectivity projects undertaken by DPT and advised the Port to accelerate the progress of these works so that the nation and the stakeholders get the benefit of the same.
The Hon'ble Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal Ji, held a day-long Meeting with the Chairmen of Major Ports and IWAI in presence of Shri Shantanu Thakur Ji, Hon'ble Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan, IAS, Secretary (PSW).
A comprehensive review of initiatives taken by the ports for facilitating Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) and Operational Efficiency Through Technology to boost growth under PM Gati Shakti National Plan was undertaken.
Hon’ble Minister insisted that integrated efforts need to be taken by the Ports to speed-up the development works around the country. He also emphasized on promotion of Atma Nirbhar Bharat mission and skill development so that the youth of the country can be benefited.
