AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Steamer Agents Association (ASAA) and Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) celebrated the auspicious occasion of the 63rd Republic Day with good cause and concern, not only towards the trade but also towards the nature and environment.
After the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest , Shri Amit Kumar, CGM, CONCOR the association arranged a tree plantation drive at ICD Khodiyar. About 60 well grown and healthy saplings were planted in front of the main administrative building.
CONCOR joined hands with ASAA in this noble & thoughtful cause and contributed with another 40 saplings. In all 100 saplings were planted on the premises.
Shri Amit Kumar , IRTS , Chief General Manager, North West Region from CONCOR did the honours and planted the first sapling followed by eminent personalities like
Shri Rajib Bhowal, G.M Concor, Shri Abhilash, Terminal Manager, Concor and Shri Piyush Bhati, AC Imports, Shri Rajesh Kumar, AC Exports, Customs followed by ASAA members and the trade. It was a very pleasant sight to see each and every one present eager to plant a sapling and to contribute to the environment and nature.The amalgamation of four major ICD users and facilitators like CONCOR, Customs, ACHAA and ASAA increased the joy of the celebrations many folds.
ASAA also thought on the safety of their colleagues in the Survey Industry and distributed safety helmets to all the surveyors at ICD Khodiyar.
Taking the safety and security quotient further, they arranged about 30 nos. of safety boards with various messages on safety to be put all across the ICD with a hope that these will remind all that “ there is somebody always waiting for you at home “ be safe, work safely.
The ASAA committee members thanked Shri Amit Kumarji and all present at the venue who helped make the occasion a success and assured that they intend and plan to take many such initiatives and causes in the future .
The function concluded with light snacks arranged by CONCOR over a few lighter moments.
