New Delhi - West Bengal will remain at the centre of India’s upcoming land port development strategy due to the strategic importance and sensitivity of the Siliguri Corridor, according to Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) Chairperson Jayant Singh.
Speaking at the launch of the Land Port Management System (LPMS) “Vinimay” on Tuesday, Singh said the state’s unique geographical position, sharing borders with Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, makes it a critical gateway for regional trade and national security.
