THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala high court on Wednesday, 28th September reiterated its directive to the State Government to ensure that the ingress and egress of employees and workers at the Vizhinjam International Seaport are not prevented by the fishermen protesting against the project.
Justice Anu Sivaraman directed that the protestors should not be allowed to prevent the ingress and egress of workers and asked the government to ensure that the directive is being complied with.
A directive was issued by the court after a counsel representing Adani Vizhinjam Port Pvt Ltd (AVPL) submitted that the protestors are preventing the entry and exit of its workers. In addition to AVPL’s petition seeking police protection, the court is considering a contempt of court plea alleging that the court’s order of September 1st to provide police protection has not been complied with.
