We are very bullish on India : Charles Brennan

 

MUMBAI: Vanguard Logistics Services celebrated its two years of strong presence in India by holding a mega get together for its valued customers and trade partners at Hotel Leela, Mumbai on 3rd September, 2015.

 

The entire global management team had flown into India from its worldwide offices to celebrate this get together themed as Vanguard’s eVoLuSion Soiree.

 

Mr. Charles Brennan - Executive Chairman, Mr. Dmitriy Ioffe - Managing Director (Strategic Accounts), Mr. Hal Donahue – Managing Director (Latin America), Mr. Jeffery Lee – Managing Director (South Asia, Middle East & Africa), Mr. Clifford Nazareth – Regional GM (Middle East & Africa ), Mr. Michael Gomez – Managing Director (Indian Subcontinent), Mr. Jitendra Vijan – Director, Ocean Freight (Indian Subcontinent) and Mr. Rajeev Chawla – Chief Transformation Officer were some of prominent people from its global and Indian management team to grace this event.

 

While speaking exclusively to Daily Shipping Times, Mr. Charles Brennan, Executive Chairman – Vanguard Logistics Services – Corporate USA Office, highlighted that we are just two years old and before that we use to work through our agent in India.

 

In fact we wanted to control the product end to end and the only way to do that was to have our own presence by opening our office here.

 

He stressed how establishing their own office in India two years ago helped them in terms of controlling the quality of service, compliance and the pricing. He said, we are clearly the leaders in the USA with strong presence in Countries like China, Brazil, Argentina, Korea, Singapore, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan etc. In fact we have strong presence in more than 100 Countries now.

 

On asking about future prospects, he said we will continue to grow organically but are open to acquisition as well. Our core product will always remain LCL but we are open for inorganic growth in areas such as trucking, warehousing, CFS etc.

 

We do have our own CFS in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Maimi, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Shanghai among others and can consider in India as well in future to tap the tremendous opportunity present here.

 

He said, the future prospect of Indian economy under PM Modi’s leadership is much higher than other Countries and hence we remain very bullish on India. We will continue to make investments in Indian operation in future. On competition he said, though the competition is high but we are not too much worried about our competitors. Rather we want them to worry about us.  

 

Earlier, Mr. Michael Gomez – MD (Indian Subcontinent) welcomed the gathering, its global management team and their valuable customer from across India. He said it has been an exhilarating journey till now for Vanguard Logistics Services in India. He further added that this event is not only to celebrate the success with our valuable customers but also to interact with our global management team regarding your feedback and future requirements. 

 

Mr. Jeffery Lee – Managing Director (South Asia, Middle East & Africa) also thanked the valuable customers of Vanguard for their immense support and reiterated their commitment in serving Indian market in a better way. He too remains very bullish in India on the back drop of implementation of GST in near future.
