New Delhi - Soon the people of India will be able to travel to the neighboring Country Myanmar and then to Thailand via road. The ongoing India-Myanmar Thailand Trilateral Highway Project between Thailand and India is expected to be ready in three to four years. The Ambassador of Thailand to India said that the work on the highway is going on at a fast pace and the work is almost completed in the Indian state of Manipur. Thailand’s Ambassador to India Pattarat Hongtong said on Wednesday, “The trilateral highway between India, Myanmar and Thailand is under construction.
The road from Thailand to Myanmar is under construction. In India, this highway will come up to Moreh in Manipur. I went to Moreh And I have seen the road from Imphal to Moreh, which is almost ready.”
Earlier, on the occasion of a conclave organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Thailand, Vijavat Israbhakdi, said that 99 percent of the work on this four-lane expressway in Thailand has already been completed. Now, a lot depends on the Governments of India and Myanmar as to how fast the project can be completed.” Talks are yet to be held between the concerned countries regarding the types of vehicles that will run and what will be the framework regarding them. During this, he praised the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
