KOLKATA: Transworld Group Singapore’s Transworld Terminals inaugurated its CFS in Kolkata, in the presence of Mr Mahesh Sivaswamy, Chairman and CEO, Transworld Group Singapore and Mrs Mala Mahesh, Director, Transworld Group Singapore. The occasion was also graced by Mr S. Balaji Arun Kumar, Deputy Chairman - Kolkata Port Trust. Also present was Mr Ganesh Krishnan, CEO and Director, Transworld Terminals.
The CFS has commenced operations on February 20, 2019. Established in 2006, Transworld Terminals Pvt. Ltd is an integral part of Transworld Group Singapore, which is strategically headquartered in Singapore. With a dominating presence since inception, Transworld Terminals has evolved itself in various dimensions of dynamic business verticals under a very strong leadership, to meet the expectation of the rapidly changing market scenario. Transworld Terminals which is an AEO (Authorized Economic Operator)-certified entity operates Container Freight Stations in Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Dadri, Chennai and Tuticorin.
Adding a new feather to the cap of its existing Pan-India CFS network, Transworld Terminals has commenced operations at Kolkata. The facility which is spread over an area of 10 acres is strategically located in Khidderpur, just 0.9 km away from the Port. It provides a state-of-the-art facility which has been exclusively designed with the enriched experience and expertise of Transworld in the CFS business.
The lamp lighting ceremony was done by Mr Prabhunanda - Dy Commissioner of Customs and S.P.S. (IRS), on February 20, 2019. It was indeed a moment of great pride for the entire team of Transworld Terminals to observe the presence of Mr Prabhunanda. He and other esteemed Customs Officials were greeted by Mr Ganesh Krishnan, who was accompanied by his team and valued customers.
The entire team of Transworld Terminals and Mr Sachin Thanna - General Manager, who is heading this newly-established entity, were overwhelmed as the company marked its new beginning in the dream city of Kolkata. With intent of substantially contributing to the export-import trade in the Eastern part of India, setting up the CFS at Kolkata was one of the most awaited projects of the top management of Transworld Terminals.
