Mumbai, August 21st 2023 - SITC International Holdings Co., Ltd. a prominent shipping enterprise with an extensive network encompassing 77 service routes across 16 nations and 75 major ports in China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, is embarking on a significant new endeavor. The company has officially announced the launch of a direct service connecting the fast-growing China/Southeast Asia -India East Coast trade lane.

Having forged its initial association with India earlier this year from Kolkata, SITC’s presence will now extend to Vizag and Chennai starting from September 10, 2023.

Capitalising on the Growing Indian Trade
As of December 31, 2022, SITC holds the 13th position among global shipping enterprises, as reported by Alphaliner. Bolstered by the potential promised by the Indian trade market, this strategic move is poised to further fortify SITC’s already extensive coverage in Asia.

In the Indian sector, SITC will be represented by Eastern Liners Shipping Pvt. Ltd. (J M Baxi Group), an entity renowned for its expansive network spanning over 20 locations. This network comprehensively covers all major ICDs and ports, boasting an experienced team of professionals. The ethos of Eastern Liners Shipping Pvt. Ltd. aligns harmoniously with SITC’s corporate values, emphasising People, Service, Value and Development.

Forging a New Shipping Consortium
SITC is joining the FIE1 service (Far East India East-Coast 1). This upcoming service, slated to be a weekly offering, boasts a port rotation encompassing Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Port Klang (West).

Beyond direct ports, their service will also cater to inland locations such as Bengaluru, Jajpur and Nepal, with a comprehensive exploration of additional inland destinations in North and Central India. The inception of this new shipping route underscores SITC’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in the maritime domain, facilitating more efficient trade, and contributing to the growth of global commerce.
