RZD Logistics and Nurminen Logistics sent first in Europe a Block train to India via the International North-South Transport Corridor

RUSSIA: JSC RZD Logistics and Nurminen Logistics Services OY  transported first block train from Europe to India via the Western wing of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

The block train with 32 40ft containers departed from Vuosaari (Finland) on the 21st of June.

The train will cross over  territories of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The estimated travel time by rail from the Vuossari to the Astara destination station will be 8 days. From Astara station, the containers will be transported to the port of Bandar Abbas and further shipped by ship to the port of Nhava Sheva (Mumbai). The total transit time Finland - India will not exceed 22 days.

This is the first multimodal shipment along the western branch of the North-South transport corridor, organized within the framework of the agreement signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
