New Delhi - Indian Railways recorded steady growth in freight operations in June, with freight loading increasing by 4% compared with the previous period, reflecting continued momentum in cargo movement across the network.
The growth was supported by strong demand from key freight segments, including coal, minerals, industrial goods, and other essential commodities. The improvement highlights the railway sector’s ongoing role in supporting India’s supply chains and economic activity.
During the first quarter of FY27, Indian Railways freight loading also registered growth of around 1.5%, indicating sustained performance despite changing market conditions.
