Visakhapatnam : The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA)here on Monday. The Members of the Committee were warmly received by Roshni Aparanji, Deputy Chairperson, VPA, along with the Heads of Departments.The Committee later visited various operational areas of the port, where the Deputy Chairperson briefed them on the overall functioning of the port and the strategic initiatives being implemented, the port said in a release here.The Members were informed about the port’s infrastructure facilities, cargo handling capacity, modernization and mechanization efforts, covered storage facilities, solar power projects, and sewage treatment plant . . .
