'One MOL Safety Campaign' aims to achieve World's Highest Level of Safety Culture

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) today announced that it held the One MOL Safety Campaign from July to December 2023.

The "One MOL Safety Campaign" is an annual event in which crewmembers serving aboard MOL Group-operated vessels and shore-based employees exchange opinions on safety-related initiatives to foster a strong safety culture. In addition to the online safety campaign, the group resumed the in-person safety campaign by visiting vessels for the first time in four years, which had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many MOL Group executives and employees took part in the campaign, holding lively exchanges of opinions with crewmembers about ways to ensure safe operations.

For the completed campaign of this fiscal year, MOL adopted "MY GOAL, ZERO HARM" as the theme of the safety campaign, with the main objective of eliminating work-related accidents. Campaign participants reaffirmed the importance of "safety" as indicated by the "S (Safety)" in its shared values, "MOL CHARTS," and renewed their commitment to the world's highest levels of safety and quality.

MOL Group is developing various social infrastructure businesses centered on the shipping industry. The group believes that safety is its absolute mission and the foundation of its new initiatives. Based on this idea, MOL established the "MOL Group Safety Vision" in January of this year, which reiterates its vision of what the MOL Group should be in terms of safety.

MOL Group continues its efforts to pursue the world's highest level of safety culture under the Safety Vision.
