How did you feel to receive the "Youngest Entrepreneur in Logistics” in the Country at India Maritime Awards 3rd Edition?
I am very happy and honoured to receive ‘Youngest Entrepreneur in Logistics’ and that too at the India Maritime Awards 3rd Edition organised by Daily Shipping Times in the presence of all the luminaries and stalwarts from the Shipping & Logistics industry.
I must sincerely thank all the people involved. This business and now this prestigious accolade has been possible only with help of the entire team of Papers N Parcels and support of my family. I am very grateful to get this opportunity which has helped me to convert my idea into a real business opportunity. I am confident that it will help many more in realising their opportunities through this innovative Start Up.
Do you think Papers N Parcels can be the face of Start Up India and the day is not far when Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji promotes this Start Up as role model for others to emulate?
India has many successful Start-ups with great entrepreneurs. I hope to connect with them, get pointers and also exchange business ideas. Our Government has really supported businesses in India especially the Start-ups. Modiji’s acknowledgement of our business would truly be a Special Gesture! The Papers N Parcels App is a unique and innovative platform that combines technology, timely service, people, business and peace of mind. One can not only get their documents or parcels but also imagine a situation when one receives his forgotten spects or bag left behind at a friend’s place or like me when I left my books at my uncle’s place when this idea of Papers N Parcels struck me for the first time.
Yes, Papers N Parcels can certainly be the face of Start-Up India and i would very humble if our Honourable Prime Minister promotes young entrepreneurs like me or their innovative Start Ups.
We understand that you have partnered with the Mumbai Dabbawala network for courier deliveries. How was your journey to get them onboard?
Well, the idea came when I spoke to a Dabbawala in my building. That was the seed to the tree and I realised that same day courier service in Mumbai can use their strengths and give them additional income too.
They are the most caring and efficient sets of people. I have personally travelled with them to understand how they deliver ‘dabba’ so efficiently and timely. They have all been very encouraging and supportive
You travelled with Dabbawalas for months.
How was your experience with the work they do?
Getting your lunch on time in fast-paced Mumbai is not easy with the kind of traffic and other inconveniences that crops up. They are on time each time every day of the week. Their team-work, hard work and dedication is something you have to learn from and they make it look so simple. Their passion and smile is what I aspire to inculcate in my team and business too.
What are the area covered as of now?
As of now, we cover right from Churchgate to Borivali on Western Line. CST to Kharghar on Harbor Line and from CST to Thane on the Central Line, which we plan to expand in future.
How can Papers N Parcels add more value compare to our existing courier company?
No courier company gives you an option to place your courier till 2.30pm and get delivery on the same day without any commitment or contract with price as low as Rs.40. We plan to expand our Mumbai operations in other locations too.
How can your App help the Shipping and Logistics industry?
I understand Bill of Lading, Invoices and Cheque collection are of some of top most important documents that will be picked up and delivered the very same day and this is a big difference when compare to other courier service who does delivery on next day and not on the same day. Orders can be placed at your convenience at the click of a button till 2.30pm and the same will be delivered anywhere in Mumbai. Also corporate web version gives you itemized billing-department wise. You can set budget department wise. As soon as documents /parcels are delivered in few seconds you get electronic POD.
What about safety and security of the documents?
We are online and like Ola and Uber so you can track your courier as also the delivery people. The delivery team is well trained and they have been verified by us so it is as secure as possible.
What do you expect from Shipping industry?
The way some of well-known names like Samsara Shipping, Merchant Shipping, Rushabh Sealink, Velji Dosabhai and thousands of individuals among others trusted us as their business partners, we expect more companies from NVOCC, Freight forwarders, CHA and Shipping Lines to start their business relations with us.
