New Delhi - India’s Major Ports continue to power the nation’s maritime growth while remaining under public ownership. Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal highlighted that no Major Port has been privatized. Through transparent PPP-led development, India is modernizing port infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, attracting investments and expanding capacity, while ownership and administration remain with the respective Port Authorities. Combined revenue of Major Ports has risen from ₹17,671.49 crore in FY 2021-22 to ₹26,582.77 crore in FY 2025-26 (provisional), reflecting the sector’s strong and sustained growth.
