New Delhi - India’s logistics sector is projected to reach $600 billion by 2031–32, while logistics costs are estimated at around 8% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), according to an official from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
The projection highlights the growing importance of logistics in supporting India’s manufacturing, exports and overall economic expansion. Efficient transportation, warehousing and supply chain management are increasingly critical as the country seeks to strengthen its position in global trade.
