Maersk to launch India-Mediterranean Service

MUMBAI : Maersk plans to launch a container service, called the ME4, linking India, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, effective from October.
 
This is a dedicated West Med service which will be characterized by the usual Maersk trait  Reduced Transit Time and High Reliability.
 
The ME4 port rotation will include: Jebel Ali, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), Jeddah, Malta, Algeciras, Tangiers, Genoa, Jeddah and back to Jebel Ali.
 
 The Danish carrier said the new service will deploy vessels with a carrying capacity of 4,500  20-foot equivalent units and connect at Algeciras on the West Bound leg with its Rumba Service, which is being merged with the Mediterranean Shipping Company's "Spain Loop 2 Service" starting in November.
