Karachi : Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) presented excellence awards to shipping companies at a ceremony held in Karachi, Pakistan in June 2012. Together, Maersk Line and Safmarine, both part of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, were proud to win three out of five awards in a field with 35 different shipping lines.

 

Maersk Line was awarded “Best Shipping line in Network Coverage and Transit Time”. “The win is a token of appreciation from our valued customers for our efforts towards selling and creating value in global commerce,” says Muhammad Arsalan Khan, Sales Manager for Maersk Line Pakistan, adding that it is “a strong foundation for our future growth and a valuable industry  recognition”.

 

At the same event, Safmarine won the coveted “Friendly Line” award. Hasan Faraz, Commercial Manager for Safmarine Pakistan is proud of the honour: “This proves the importance of focusing on our strengths to ensure long-term, sustainable growth for the Safmarine brand,” he said. “Our Friendly Line award emphasises our ability to deliver on people-based, emotional aspects as well as personalised, relationship-based selling.”

 

PIFFA and its local and international members, who number more than 500, play a significant role in promotion of Pakistan’s trade. In addition to the actual awards, the ceremony provided an opportunity for industry stakeholders to interact and develop corporate relationships.

 

PIFFA and Maersk will continue this journey together towards strengthening the trade, commerce and industry of  Pakistan.
