MUMBAI : Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s No.1 Container Port, has added yet another feather in its cap by handling highest cargo throughput in the year 2017. JN Port handled almost 4.7 million TEUs in the year 2017 as against 4.5 million TEUs in previous corresponding year representing a growth of almost 5 percent.

 

The Port owned Container Terminal, JNPCT handled almost 1.51 million TEUs in 2017. APM Terminals Mumbai (GTI) handled approximately 1.96 million TEUs. DP World operated Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT) handled approximately 0.65 million TEUs in 2017 while Nhava Sheva International Gateway Terminal (NSIGT) handled approximately 0.59 million TEUs.

 

JNPT had recently informed that that Phase-I construction of Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT) has been completed as per schedule and a provisional completion certificate is issued to BMCT.
