JN Port achieves new high of over 4.45 Million TEUs in FY 2014-15

NAVI MUMBAI : Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has created history by achieving an all-time high in container handling in fiscal year 2014-15.
 
JNPT has handled above 4.45 million TEUs in fiscal 2014-15, it is learnt.
 
The Port has handled 4.16 million TEUs in 2013-14. Overall the port has handled 63.9 million tonnes of the total cargo during the financial year 2014-15, according to the sources.
 
Of the three terminals, JNPCT handled 1.29 million TEUs, while APM Terminals Mumbai (GTI) handled 2.01 million TEUs and DP World Nhava Sheva (NSICT) registered throughput 1.15 million TEUs respectively, according to the sources.
 
The two important mega projects, DP World’s 330 meter Standalone Container Terminal  and the fourth Container Terminal will double JN Port capacity and increase the growth prospects.
