New Delhi - India’s exports to Gulf countries declined by 16% in August, reversing the growth recorded in July as escalating regional tensions and war-related risks continued to disrupt trade flows. The downturn highlights the growing uncertainty facing Indian exporters who depend on Gulf markets and shipping routes.
The Gulf region is an important destination for Indian products, including engineering goods, food products, textiles, chemicals and other manufactured items. Any disruption to trade routes, shipping schedules or regional business activity can affect export deliveries, freight costs and the competitiveness of Indian goods.
