…Gujarat is the port of first choice for the entire industry: Narayan Rane 

GANDHINAGAR : Addressing the Valedictory Session of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, Union Home Minister, Mr Amit Shah, underlined its significance in the 'Sankalp se Siddhi' pathway. He stated, "Today, India is the most sought-after destination worldwide, with Gujarat as its most preferred state." Shah attributed this success to reforms that are transforming India. He said that India is on its way to becoming a pioneer in key global economic sectors, including EV, green hydrogen, biofuels, space, digital infrastructure, FinTech, and semiconductor manufacturing. He urged the industry to engage with India's green hydrogen mission, backed by a Rs 20,000 crore outlay.  

CM Gujarat, Mr Bhupendrabhai Patel, highlighted that the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show has provided a platform for emerging sectors such as Blue Economy, E-Mobility, Defense & Aerospace, Drone Technology, Green Fields, and Ports. “Gujarat has been the first state to launch its roadmap of a “Viksit Gujarat 2047” in line with PM Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” he added.  

On occasion, Mr Pankaj Patel, Past President, FICCI and Chairman, Zydus Lifesciences, noted that the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit has united global institutions, investors, strategists, and entrepreneurs, fostering dialogues and collaborations. Patel emphasised Gujarat's global stature as an investment-friendly destination with a focused ecosystem for economic growth, industrial development, and infrastructure. He announced that Zydus Lifesciences has entered into multiple MoUs, committing Rs 5000 crores towards next-generation biotechnology products, new medical device initiatives, and hospital projects.  

Earlier during the 3rd day of Vibrant Gujarat 2024, Union Minister Mr Narayan Tatu Rane spoke at the MSME Conclave and reinforced Gujarat’s status as a key industrial hub and the primary port of choice for the industry. He emphasised Gujarat's crucial role in India's economy, with a population of 5%, Gujarat astonishingly contributes 8.3% towards our national GDP and 18% to the industrial output. A significant 33% of India's exports are handled through Gujarat's ports. It is noteworthy that the State's 16 lakh registered MSMEs, which is 7% of India's total, are particularly generating the highest employment in India.  

On the occasion, CM Mr Bhupendra Patel in his inaugural address during the MSME conclave emphasised that the vision of his government is to focus on promoting MSMEs, which has been well emphasised by all our dignitaries in their speeches. He said that MSMEs should be given all big platforms to excel.
