Mumbai - IKEA, in partnership with BLR Logistiks (I) Ltd, has introduced an electric heavy-duty truck from 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤 for operations on India's public roads. Since 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐬, transporting IKEA products between Mumbai's port, Pune's distribution center, and the Mumbai store. This initiative has led to increased efficiency and long-term cost reductions, despite the higher initial purchase price compared to diesel trucks.This deployment aligns with IKEA's commitment to sustainable logistics and reducing carbon emissions in its supply chain.
