AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Maritime Summit – organised and managed by Daily Shipping Times – became the talk of the town owing to its Grand Success due to the immense support received from Maritime fraternity. Shipping Stalwarts, Trade and Industry Experts, Academician, CEOs, Leading Maritime Associations apart from other distinguished dignitaries, who were in large presence to enlighten the gathering and maritime industry in general on key development happening within the Industry at Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad on 6th October 2023. 

Daily Shipping Times in its 30th Year in Gujarat, hosted this Summit to pave the way for maritime fraternity to dwell upon two of the most important Theme of “Environment, Social & Governance (ESG)” and “National Logistics Policy” affecting the Maritime and Logistics industry via Panel Discussion mode with industry experts. 

Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar, Director, GNLU and Provost – Gujarat Maritime University delivered the Keynote address as Chief Guest highlighting the key achievement of Gujarat Maritime University and Potential of Gujarat as the key Maritime State of India. The Convener of the event Capt. Ram Iyer – Vice President - Seahorse Ship Agencies Pvt. Ltd. in his inaugural remarks outlined what ESG means & National Logistics Policy covers.

An Insightful Panel Discussion with Trade and Industry experts, Moderated by Mr. Vivek Kele, Director, Teamglobal Logistics Pvt. Ltd., who highlighted and informed the trade about “Environment, Social & Governance (ESG)” to the august gathering with regards to how a company can become more responsible in its way to help mother nature in terms of decarbonisation in small ways. The Second session was chaired by Dr. Pramod Sant, Industry Expert, Former Vice President – Head of Import/Export & Customs, Siemens Ltd., on “National Logistics Policy” where all the leading experts brought the finesse of the policy in general and deliberated on how it will enable India in achieving the 5 trillion Economy.
