In a significant step towards community development and an initiative  under DPA’s Corporate Social Responsibility, Shri Vinodbhai  Chavda, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Kutch-Morbi), laid the  foundation stone for two community halls dedicated to the  Maheshwari Samaj at Adipur and Old Sundarpuri, Gandhidham. The  initiative, undertaken under the Corporate Social Responsibility  (CSR) program of Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla, aims to provide  modern infrastructure for social, cultural and educational activities of  the Maheshwari community. 

The ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of Smt. Maltiben  Maheshwari, Hon’ble MLA Gandhidham; Shri C. Harichandran,  Deputy Chairman, DPA; Shri J.K. Rathod, CPES, Chief Vigilance  Officer (DPA); Shri Srinivas Rao, Dy. Chief Engineer; Shri Valji  Danicha, Ex-MLA Gandhidham; and esteemed leaders including Shri  Versibhai & Shri Dhiraj Dada (Dharam Guru), Shri Prakash Bhai,  President (Adipur Maheshwari Samaj), Shri Vijaybhai Parmar, Shri  Momaybhai Gadhvi and Shri Jethabhai Patariya, President  (Gandhidham Maheshwari Samaj Sundarpuri). 

On this auspicious occasion, Hon’ble MP Shri Vinodbhai Chavda  expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of Deendayal Port  Authority in supporting social infrastructure projects. He emphasized  the importance of such initiatives in promoting social unity and  ensuring the holistic development of communities. 

Project Details: 

1. Community Assembly Hall for Maheshwari Community at  Adipur 

• Sanctioned Amount: ₹25.00 lakh 

• Work: Construction of a permanent dome-shaped shed to  enhance facilities for the Maheshwari community in Adipur. The  structure will provide a well-equipped space for community  gatherings, events and social activities. 

2. Metallic Sheet Community Hall for Maheshwari Samaj at Old  Sundarpuri, Gandhidham 

• Sanctioned Amount: ₹15.00 lakh 

• Work: Construction of a metallic sheet community hall to  accommodate the needs of the Maheshwari community  residing in Old Sundarpuri. This hall will serve as a  multifunctional space, facilitating various community programs  and events. 

The Deendayal Port Authority has been at the forefront of fostering  community development through its CSR initiatives. These projects  underscore DPA’s unwavering commitment to social progress by  ensuring that communities have access to essential facilities that  enhance their quality of life.

These community halls will  not only serve as a center for socio-cultural activities but will also  empower the people by providing a dedicated space for their events  and gatherings.”
