Evergreen’s new South India -Arabian Gulf ISG service announced

Evergreen orders 24 Methanol-Fueled Containerships for $5 Billion

CHENNAI/MUMBAI: Evergreen Line, one of the world’s leading container shipping carriers, has announced a new service linking two of South India’s most significant ports - Chennai and Cochin - with Colombo in Sri Lanka and Jebel Ali in the UAE. The service will also provide connections with the line’s global network, it is learnt.              

Commencing on May 31, 2021 with the scheduled call at Colombo of the Evergreen vessel MV Ever Chant, the service, known as ISG, will have an established port rotation of: Chennai, Colombo, Cochin, Jebel Ali, Cochin, Colombo, Chennai.

From the Arabian Gulf hub of Jebel Ali, an extensive range of Gulf ports will be served. Likewise, Colombo will provide a transhipment centre through which connections to Evergreen’s global network of ports will be available, according to sources.
