DPIIT hosts Vietnamese delegation to promote bilateral cooperation in Infra, logistics sector

DPIIT hosts Vietnamese delegation to promote bilateral cooperation in Infra, logistics sector

NEW DELHI : The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has hosted a delegation from Vietnam to promote bilateral cooperation in the infrastructure and logistics sector, an official statement said on Wednesday. The five-day visit of the delegation from July 31 to August 4 is a follow-up to an Indian delegation’s visit in March.

Around 80 participants, including Vietnamese delegates from various logistics and supply chain companies and associations, had fruitful discussions on both days, the DPIIT said. A direct shipping route between India and Vietnam is a potential area of interest for both sides, it said, adding, investment opportunities in industrial parks and greenfield industrial smart cities such as Dholera Special Investment Region can be explored by Vietnamese businesses.

On Day -1 of Vietnamese Delegation’s visit to India, a G2B interactions were held with Vietnamese delegation at DPIIT on Monday, July 31st. Meeting was chaired by SIIT Shri Rajesh Singh along with Special Secretary, Logistics Dept., DPIIT, Smt Sumita Dawra and Additional Secretary Shri Rajeev Thakur. 18 CEO from various logistics industry of vietnam participated.

Mr. Dang Vu Thanh Head of Vietnamese Delegation and Vice Chairman of VLA in his opening remarks mentioned about the logistics conference in Vietnam where Indian Delegation headed by Special Secretary, Logistics, DPIIT, Smt. Sumita Dawra participated and discussed about collaborations.

He discussed about the growing market of Vietnam and how it is important to be part of growth story of India. Collaborations and partnerships in logistics sector can become base of our cooperation

On Day-2 of Vietnamese Delegation’s visit to India, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Shri Som Prakash kickstarted the day with insightful introductory remarks, highlighting investment opportunities in Textile, Leather, and Warehousing sectors.

Indian industry associations like FICCI, ASSOCHAM, Continental Carriers, Rehousing Associations Of India, AVIAPRO Logistics and Activair Airfreight present exciting investment opportunities and partnerships in the booming logistics and trade sector.

Vietnamese companies showcased development in their logistics and supply chain network, along with investment opportunities in various sectors, including logistics facilities, Air cargo, Container shipping and Maritime.
