DPA Kandla issues tender for allotting 2,000 acre of land for developing shipbuilding cluster

GANDHIDHAM : Deendayal Port Authority has issued a tender to lease 2,000 acres for a shipbuilding cluster in Kandla, Gujarat, under a 30-year lease.

Bidders must have experience in constructing VLCC-class shipyards. The reserve price is set at ₹27,510 per acre per year, with the final price determined through bidding. The lease will be cancelled if the land remains unused for two years. The initiative aligns with Budget 2024’s ₹25,000 crore Maritime Development Fund and policy reforms to boost India’s shipbuilding industry.
