Deendayal Port operationalises 2 mobile harbour cranes; Cargo handling capability gets a boost

GANDHIDHAM: Two Deendayal Port Trust (DPT) -owned Liebherr LHM 550 mobile harbour cranes, having capacity of 124 tonnes each, have been put into traffic operation from September 30, 2020. They will cater to the cargo handling needs at Berths 13 to 16 in a highly efficient manner, thereby further enhancing the operational capabilities of the port, emphasised a release.
 
The said assets were taken over from RAS Infraport in September 2017 and, after repairs, traffic load trial operation was carried out on September 13, 2020.
 
Mr Susil Chandra Nahak, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer, Mr P. Srinivasu, Superintendent Engineer (Electrical), Mr Dana Manohar, Executive Engineer (Mechanical), Mr H. G. Makwana, Assistant Engineer (Mechanical), and Mr Niral R. Modi, Junior Engineer (Mechanical) helped in operationalising the cranes, the release added.
