The government has named Sushil Kumar Singh, a joint secretary looking after ports/ PPP and PHRD in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways as the Chairperson of Deendayal Port Authority (formerly Kandla Port).

Sushil Singh is an Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer of 1993 batch - one of the group 'A' central engineering services of the Indian Railways. He succeeds S K Mehta who stepped down from the post in April after a five-year term.
