
BEIJING: Since the outbreak of COVID-19, COSCO SHIPPING headquarters and its shipping, port, logistics and overseas subsidiaries have been taking rigorous actions to restore the “lifeline” for the transportation of essential goods for disease control and people’s livelihoods, guaranteeing smooth logistics and transport for Wuhan, Hubei Province and various other places. While taking strict disease prevention and control measures, COSCO SHIPPING has accelerated the work resumption to increase its operation revenue.
From January through February this year, COSCO SHIPPING has completed transportation of 190 million tonnes of goods, including 50 million tonnes of coal and coal products, metallic ores, oil products, and LNG in domestic and foreign trade. By March 6, it has transported 18.261 million face masks, over 2.34 million protection suits, 100,000 eye protection products, 7.57 million pairs of gloves, and 277,000 nurse caps; completed customs clearance free of charge for 18.03 million face masks; and transported about 131,000 tonnes of other medical supplies, raw materials for medical supplies, and daily supplies for people’s livelihoods.
