CMA CGM unveils New Service to ICD Birgunj, Nepal

MARSEILLE/MUMBAI: As part of Customer centricity drive and commitment to provide consistent and innovative maritime solutions to the customers CMA CGM has announced the acceptance of Import to ICD Birgunj, over the Gateway Port of Visakhapatnam (Vizag), India on Carrier Haulage.
 
CMA CGM will also continue to accept Import for ICD Birgunj via Gateway Port of Kolkata on Merchant Haulage.
 
Carrier Haulage from Vizag
 
Customer’s preferring Import Carrier Haulage (Rail Mode) to Nepal from the Gateway Port of Visakhapatnam (Vizag), will enjoy benefits as follow:
 
1.            Will have advantage of the “Simplified” e-Sealing process, No waiting time at Vizag
 
2.            A single window for the customer – Saving Time & Costs
 
3.            E-payment platforms and issuance of Delivery order at ICD Birgunj
 
4.            Take delivery of Laden Container at ICD Birgunj, and empty return at ICD Birgunj
 
5.            Bill of Lading will read Final Place of Delivery(FPD) as ICD Birgunj for Carrier Haulage via Vizag.
 
The Carrier Haulage to ICD Birgunj product, is ONLY over the gateway Port of Visakhapatnam (VIZAG).

Merchant Haulage from Kolkata
 
For customers prefering Import Merchant Haulage (Rail Mode) to Nepal over Kolkata Port through, In-Transit Clause, we continue to offer 21 days Free time with empty drop off at ICD Birgunj for a nominal fee of INR 3,500 per 20’ 7,000 per 40’.
 
The Laden Rail haulage to ICD Birgunj, Nepal and the Empty Haulage from ICD Birgunj to the empty depot in Kolkata will continue to be paid directly to the Rail operator by the consignee, said a company release.
