It saw participation from all the members of BOFBA. The AGM was followed by a trade get-together later in the evening.
The AGM was presided over by the BOFBA Managing Committee headed by the Chairman : Mr Keyur Tharani from M. Bhadrasinh & Company, Hon. Secretary :
Mr Anup Deosthalee from D. Wamadeo & Co. (Estd. 1958), Hon. Treasurer : Mr Krishna Mody from Morarji K. Govindji , Mr Tanay Gandhi from KR Gandhi Logistics Pvt Ltd and Mr Rajiv Mukhtyar from Amritlal C. Mukhtyar.
Addressing members, the Chairman said that the Association plans to get much closer to the entire shipping fraternity. BOFBA being one of the oldest associations in India, needs to get on a much bigger platform, he emphasized, adding that BOFBA and other active associations in the trade should come together and discuss the common issues and problems they face. BOFBA, which is more than 6 decades old, has successfully traversed its journey thus far and plans to attain even greater heights with lots of dedication and hard work of the committee members..
He also advised that the Freight Rates have started cooling now coupled with easier availability of Space & Equipments. The Russia Ukraine War has also played a major part in reduction of demand overseas coupled with high inflation & uncertainty leading to freight rates stabilising. Finally a Vote of thanks was given by the Hon. Secretary to all the Members of the Association..
The Members need to keep fighting for our respect with the Major Liners & try & to have a co-ordinated approach for the same.
The Members also stressed on the point that the entire shipping and logistics fraternity is working for the same industry, with the same passion to together create, day after day, the history of Indian shipping.
The get-together was well attended by Leading Shipping and Logistics stalwarts.
