AHMEDABAD: Ahmedabad Steamer Agents Association (ASAA) along with JBS Academy organized quiz program revolving trophy on Saturday, 9th June 2012 at AMA centre, Ahmedabad. The quiz program was hosted along with able hands of JBS Academy for Ahmedabad shipping trade.
The quiz program was one of the activities which ASAA had conceived during January this year and initiated thereafter which finally shaped into a mega event with overwhelming response from the Ahmedabad shipping fraternity which of course was possible with the supportand contribution of Shri Samir Shah (mentor) JBS Academy and his team along with eminent personalities of the trade who were the quiz masters for the quiz (names – Pinakin Pandya, Satyen Desai,Devang Joshi, Rajendra Pala, Samir Patel, Robert Gomes and support team scorers/referee ).
It is believed that this was very unique contest which was conducted for the first time in the history of ASAA and shipping trade on such a large scale.
On fine Saturday morning, all the teams had gathered at AMA centre. There were 37 teams (companies) registered for the event, each team consisting of two employees. It began with great pomp and gay, the excitement among the teams was very high right from the initial elimination rounds and through the quarter finals & Semi finals which went on till evening and lastly it came down to final round with four teams contesting for the revolving trophy. For the final round, the quiz master was Mr. Samir Shah. The trophy was won by Expeditors which will be holding the trophy for 11 months until the next contest. All participants and support teams were distributed certificates and token gift of appreciation .
The finals were held in the evening at H.T.Parikh hall AMA centre, the event was graced by presence of Mr. Vaasudeve Rao, CGM, CONCOR, NWR as Chief Guest alongwith Mr. Vineet Mathur, CM, CONCOR and Mr. Kartik Pancholi, President, ACHAA.
The ASAA committee members Mr. Amit Bhatnagar – President, Mr. Sandip Rohatgi – Vice President, Mr. Jitendra Panchal – Jt. Secretary and Mr. Rajesh Rao – Treasurer are thankful to everyone who contributed for this quiz contest and the whole trade for making this event a huge success.
Last but not the least, ASAA is looking forward for conducting such events and activities in future too.
