Pipavav, India – To commemorate International Women's Day, APM Terminals Pipavav organized impactful workshops, empowering over 300 local women. Focused on self-employment, breast cancer awareness, and inspiring success stories, these sessions aimed to equip women with essential skills for personal and professional advancement.

In accordance with the United Nation’s Theme – “Invest in Women – Accelerate Progress” for the International Women’s Day 2024, APM- Terminals Pipavav initiated many activities to accelerate progress through Women Empowerment. Some of the achievements of the company includes, empowering over 1500 women with literacy skills through dedicated classes. Around 1000 women are employed through targeted skill development programs. The company has also established a Skill Development Centre for Women at Sanghavi Girls College, Rajula to ensure skilling and employment of Girls undergoing BA and B Com courses. Through this the company aims at bridging the gap between education and employment. Additionally, the company’s project Uddan - a CSR initiative supports over 400 women from underprivileged communities on their path to self-sufficiency. Some more projects the port has undertaken are-

• Sanitation Project: Constructed over 2,500 sanitation units in 32 villages, impacting over 10,500 individuals. This project notably reduced drudgery for women, increased their privacy and safety, and contributed to improved hygiene practices in the community.

• Maternal and Child Health Project: Reached over 50,000 individuals in 22 villages, promoting menstrual hygiene awareness among girls and women, and improving access to prenatal and postnatal care. This project contributed to the well-being of mothers and children in the communities surrounding APM Terminals Pipavav.
