Association Marks Silver Jubilee with International Collaborations and Policy Milestones
MUMBAI: The Association of Multimodal Transport Operators of India (AMTOI) commemorated its 25th anniversary with grandeur and significance on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, at The Blue Sea Banquets Worli.
The celebration, attended by dignitaries from the transport sector, government officials, and industry leaders, highlighted AMTOI's pivotal role in fortifying the Indian Multimodal Transport Sector's contribution to the national GDP, exceeding 2%.
The President of AMTOI, Mr. Xerrxes Master, delivered the Welcome address, reflecting on the 25 years of AMTOI's journey and expressing gratitude to the founding members and Past Presidents for their pivotal role in the association's history.
Mr. Haresh Lalwani, Chairman of the India-Netherlands Business Association (INBA), emphasized the development of INBA with the support of the Government of Netherlands in facilitating connections between Indian business houses and the Netherlands trade. He stressed the importance of strengthening relations between INBA and AMTOI.
As the Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Bart De Jong, the Consul General at the Consulate of the Kingdom of Netherlands, highlighted India-Netherlands trade developments and emphasized the vital role of the Port of Rotterdam as a gateway to Europe. He assured continuous assistance to trade on behalf of the Government of Netherlands.
In a significant moment witnessed by esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Bart De Jong, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Netherlands, and Council General Mr. Frank Geerkens of the Consulate General of Belgium Mumbai, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AMTOI and the India-Netherlands Business Association (INBA) Mumbai took place. This MoU aimed to leverage respective strengths to drive greater synergy and create new avenues for cooperation in international trade, logistics, and multimodal transport between India & The Netherlands.
Mr. Prashant Popat, in his vote of thanks, extended gratitude to the trade sponsors, WRC, NVO Council, Women’s Wing, and Liquid Logistics Council for their continuous involvement and efforts towards AMTOI. The evening concluded with musical entertainment, cocktails, and dinner.
