MUMBAI: Allcargo has been running several social programmes under the aegis of Avashya Foundation. To promote the initiatives further and encourage employees to participate, the company has been running a volunteer programme called Allcare.
Allcare recently organised a visit of Allcargo employees to SEAL (Social and Evangelical Association for Love) Ashram. The volunteers spent the day at the Ashram which has been housing destitute and homeless individuals and children from close to 17 Indian States in its serene facility at the outskirts of Mumbai.
Allcargo employees and SEAL Ashram residents sang, danced and played games together for hours. The place was rife with cheerful laughter of the children who jumped with joy at the site of the volunteers. They held hands and showed them around the facility. They planted fruit trees together as a symbol of their long-lasting association.
Pastor KM Philip, the Founder of SEAL addressed everyone about the mission of the Ashram and shared how they have united over 300 people with their families in 10 years. He encouraged everyone to visit the facility with their families to spend time with its residents.
The joyful day ended with sweet prayers before everyone broke bread together. Allcare volunteers distributed goodies, food and sweets to the people and left with sheer satisfaction.
Avashya Foundation and Allcargo have been associated with SEAL since years, providing them with financial as well as administrative assistance. With this visit, Allcare has made sure that this association of helping and caring for the community extends to Allcargo’s volunteers too!
