FICCI organised the 7th edition of Road Safety Awards and Symposium 2025 in New Delhi. AITWA was proud to be a associate partner at the event which was very well attended by trade, Govt officials and other dignitaries.
During a panel discussion, National President AITWA , Mr Ashok Goyal highlighted some crucial issues related to the transport trade.
He spoke about the lack of amenities on Highways which needs to be rapidly improved. He complimented the Ministry of Petroleum for their initiative of making Apna Ghar facilities at petrol pumps which charge a nominal amount for the service. Such facilities are necessary at every 100 kms.
He emphasized the need for industry to adopt better loading/unloading practices. Today trucks are being used as temporary storage facilities by many large companies keeping them standing for days together. Factories & warehouses need to monitor the time it takes from arrival of a vehicle to when it is loaded/unloaded and released. This single problem if addressed by the trade will bring about a huge change in logistics efficiency and thereby cost, which our Govt is trying to reduce aggressively. These are National assets being used inefficiently by the industry leading to increasing cost.
Many of the attendees agreed to the views of Mr Goyal and have decided to ask their logistics team to review this and make a difference to the Nation.
