AGS World Transport celebrates seven successful years in India

MUMBAI  :  AGS World Transport, a leading fastest growing NVOCC celebrated its Customer Day in grand style at Powai, Mumbai on (Friday) June 1, 2012.
 
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ajit Biswas, Managing Director of AGS World Transport (India), stated, “AGS has completed 7 years of successful operations in India. It has been a rewarding journey thus far with lots of achievements and we expect our company to attain greater heights in coming years with investments being made in IT infrastructure, Human Resource and focus on expansion and business development”. He thanked patrons and associates for their support and added that the presence of AGS' top global directors at the event reflected the importance of India in the Group's scheme of things and the importance this market holds for the Group.
 
The get-together saw the trade turn up in large numbers, in addition to senior officials of AGS Group Executive Chairman Mr. Terry Tzaneros, Directors Mr. Peter Hasko and Mr. Angus Stuart, the President of Asian operation Mr. Stephen Sim and Seniors Managers from locations across India were present at the function commemorating 7 years of successful operations of AGS India. Mr. Sandro Milani & Mr. Michael Cagnoni of Boxline Italy and Mr. Steve Corner of Bronel UK both AGS's exclusive network partners and long term associates also graced the occasion and interacted with customers and business associates.
 
AGS World Transport is confident of India as an economy of the future and of continuing to do well in the country, stressed Mr. Humphrey Nolan, Chief  Executive  Officer of the company, while addressing a Customer Day Celebration to mark seven successful years of AGS World Transport (India) Pvt. Ltd.
 
He emphasised that India was an important part of AGS' global business plans, while highlighting that the company was one of the largest NVOCC in the Asia-Pacific region and handled 1.4 million cu. m of  FAK cargo last year.
 
Mr Nolan pointed out that the leading neutral NVOCC (established in 1985) had 500 employees in 21 group offices across the Asia-Pacific and offered worldwide services with 300 sailings weekly. The company partnered global and local freight forwarders and brokers to offer FAK, FCL, BBK and air services, he said.
 
On new developments in the Group, Mr Nolan said that it was moving towards a single information platform that would facilitate better customer service and responsiveness. AGS, he added, was also planning to expand through new and more frequent services to and from new ports. He thanked the trade for its support to AGS in India.
 
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of mementoes to AGS India's leading customers and business associates. While the Top Customer Award for their overall support across trade lanes was won by Velji Dosabhai & Sons Pvt. Ltd., trade lane champions were also awarded for their support with Jeena & Company winning it for their support for the Far East sector, New Globe for Australia and New Zealand, Protocol Marine for the Middle East & ISC, Harvard Shipping for European Sector and last but not the least Jas Forwarding for their support in the Mediterranean sector.
 
Participants were also entertained by some spirited dance performances that encompassed both Indian and international styles. The function was culminated with cocktails and dinner for the guests and an evening to remember!
