Adani Hazira Port connected by Rail to Central India

AHMEDABAD : Adani Hazira Port Pvt. Ltd. part of Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India's largest port developer is now connected to ICD Pithampur - Ratlam in Central India through rail. CONCOR has begun running rakes from ICD Pithampur - Ratlam to Adani Hazira Port on a regular basis and the Port has received 8 Laden Export rakes from these ICD's already. This development will evidently benefit customers in Central India while using the Adani Hazira Port.
 
Speaking on the development Mr. Shahzad Athar, AGM - Sales, Adani Hazira Port said “Through this regular rail movement Export Import Trade in Central India has got an alternative Rail gateway which will provide them faster turn around of trains along with World Class infrastructure at Adani Hazira Port. Hazira is around 270 KMS shorter in distance from Pithampur in comparison to Nhava Sheva and rail freight paid for Hazira is lower when compared to Nhava Sheva Port “
 
Major Shipping Lines like Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, UASC, Balaji Shipping, Goodrich are using this rail services to connect their export boxes to Hazira.  National Steel, Lanxess India, Shakti Pumps, Krasoma Laboratory are some of the customers who are loading their export shipments regularly on this service and are delighted by this development.
 
“We are happy with the new development of rail connectivity to Adani Hazira Port which will give us flexibility in terms of planning our Exports and will reduce our lead time along with providing certainty of connecting our container on time. We look forward to use Hazira Port more frequently now”said Mr. Nirmal Uday, Executive Vice President, Supply Chain Management, National Steel, a regular customer who loads major volumes from Pithampur to Hazira.
