These cranes were being provided to the trade for discharging bulk and break bulk cargoes till very recently. About 15/20 days back the Port has taken a decision to provide these cranes for other cargoes such as Steel Pipes lifting from the trailers directly and also to place other Machinery Cargoes directly on the trailers.
Hitherto Port has never allowed any cargo operation with 2 cranes in tandem (with 2 cranes together). The Chairman Dr. P. D. Vaghela, IAS has appreciated the initiative and efforts taken by the Chief Mechanical Engineer and his team.
The Agents of the vessel is M/s. ACT Infraport Ltd and the Stevedores is M/s. ACT Shipping Ltd and cargo belongs to M/s. Suzlon Energy Ltd.
