Shri Asit Vora, Hon. Mayor, Ahmedabad inaugurated the function
Ahmedabad : Ahmedabad Custom House Agent's Association launched its Silver Jubilee Celebration on 21st July 2012 at J. B. Auditorium of Ahmedabad Management Association. Shri Asit Vora, Hon. Mayor, Ahmedabad inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp. He was joined by Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar, Chairman, FFFAI, Mr. Bakul Bakshi, Retired Commissioner Mr. Samir Shah, Chairman of the Board - ACHAA, Mr. Kartik Pancholi, President of ACHAA and Mr. Naresh Talajia, Vice President of ACHAA.
Mr. Kartik Pancholi, President ACHAA, in his inaugural speech congratulated all the members of ACHAA on the occasion of Silver Jubilee Year.
He also thanked all the custodians CONCOR, CWC, GSEC, HPCSL and also other associations like ASAA, ACAAI, FFFAI, EXIM CLUB, etc. for their support and co-operations extended to ACHAA during the successful journey of 25 years.
Mr. Pancholi also thanked all the Past Presidents and all past committee members of ACHAA for their contribution to ACHAA during the successful journey of 25 years.
Mr. Pancholi added that “It is a matter of pride for the Association to achieve this milestone and it has set an example of achievement through combined and dedicated efforts of all ACHAA members”.
Keeping into consideration of all stated aspects, the Association has designed sequence of events and activities planned every month, throughout the year which requires the active participation of ACHAA members and presence of CHA Fraternity emphasized Mr. Pancholi. He also added that the objective of organizing such number of events and activities is to make awareness amongst Export Import community about the state of the art Infrastructure available at Ahmedabad for all commodities and for both Exports and Imports by Air as well as by Sea.The Association also wanted to awake the entire industry to realize the importance of Ahmedabad, which is well connected to all leading Gateway Ports of Western India and have direct flights to cater International Air Cargo business across the globe.
Mr. Samir Shah, Chairman, ACHAA given a nice and very interesting presentation on “Kal Aaj aur Kal” describing the role of CHA and its difficult working procedures in the earlier years and at present. He explained about earlier years custom clearance procedures and also working style of Custom Officers & CHAs during the year 1984 and then foundation of ACHAA in 1987.
Mr. Shah pointed out the importance of CHA and its active role in clearance of Export & Import Cargo. He further explained about study conducted on Gujarat Cargo for Gujarat Ports. Mr. Shah also explained about unsung hero of ACHAA who will be rewarded soon on this occasion of Silver Jubilee celebration. He also spoke about the dedication & the hard work of CHA boys.
Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar, Chairman, FFFAI in his speech congratulated ACHAA for completing 25 years and appreciated ACHAA as an active trade association in Gujarat. He also talked about the role of FFFAI and its importance in the country. He also explained the important role of service providers in India where commitment to deliver goods in time is must.
Mr. K.V.S. Singh, Additional Commissioner of Customs, congratulated ACHAA members and appreciated the efforts and achievements of ACHAA.
Shri Asit Vora, Hon. Mayor, Ahmedabad also spoke on the occasion.
He congratulated all ACHAA members and thanked ACHAA for inviting him.
He also appreciated the important role of CHAs and initiatives taken by ACHAA and wished continued success of ACHAA in future.
All the Past Presidents of ACHAA were honored for their contribution to the Association and ACHAA Trophy was unveiled. Shri Vora then felicitated Mr. Naresh Talajia, by presenting ACHAA Trophy on behalf of his father Late Mr Lalbhai Talajia, the Founder President of ACHAA.The trophy will be further sent to all the members of ACHAA, as announced. Mementoes were then presented to the special guests of the evening.
The function concluded with Gujarat Gaurav Gaan and National Anthem followed by dinner. Mr. Devang Joshi, Secretary of ACHAA, proposed the vote of thanks.
