MUMBAI: It was a Grand affair, this year, at the India Maritime Awards (#IMA2023) 7th Edition, organised and managed by India’s oldest Shipping Daily – Daily Shipping Times –in Mumbai at Hotel Sahara Star on 7th July. 

The Awards Ceremony proved to be truly magnificent, given the sheer attendance of August Gathering coming from cross sections of Maritime and Logistics vertical in scores. Little wonder that it went on to become the BEST EVER Awards Ceremony from the house of Daily Shipping Times since its inception.

Shri. Rajiv Jalota, IAS, Chairman – Mumbai Port Authority and Chairman - India Ports Association graced the Awards Ceremony as Chief Guest while Shri S. K. Mehta, IFS, Chairman – Deendayal Port Authority and Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Deputy Chairperson, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority as Guest of Honour. Dr. Suhas Madhukar Warke, IPS, Spl. Inspector General of Police (Law & Order), Maharashtra was also present as a Special Guest.

Key Highlights

• The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Shri R Radhakrishnan - Chairman Clearship Group for his invaluable contribution to the maritime and logistics domain over the years presenting a model for other entrepreneurs to emulate.
• Shri George Abrao – Chairman Abrao Group was presented with a Special Accolade of “Business Leader and Visionary in Shipping and Logistics” for his dynamic and visionary leadership in scaling Abrao Group to new heights. 
• Om Freight Forwarders launched their New Logo in front of the august gathering. This Logo was unveiled by Shri Rajiv Jalota, IAS, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, Shri S.K. Mehta, IFS, Chairperson, Deendayal Port Authority, Mr. Dushyant Mulani, President, BCBA, Mr. Shankar Shinde, Chairman, FFFAI and Mr. Xerrxes Master, President, AMTOI in presence by Shri Rahul Joshi, MD and Shri Harmesh Joshi, Shri Jitendra Joshi and Shri Kamesh Joshi – Directors of OM Freight Forwarders.   

Panel Discussion

An exciting Panel Discussion on the Theme of “ESG (ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL & GOVERNANCE) : DELIVERING A BRIGHTER FUTURE” was also lined up in between moderated by Industry Veteran Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar, Managing Director, ATC Global Logistics. Panelist who put forth their thoughts to august gathering included Shri Anand Sheth, Managing Director, CKB Group of Companies, Shri Dushyant Mulani, Director, Khimji Poonja Freight Forwarders, Shri Rajesh Mehta, CCSO & ED, Liladhar Pasoo Forwarders and Ms. Bhairavi Jani, Executive Director, SCA Group.

The Awards Ceremony brought scores of Industry Stalwarts and Dignitaries from cross sections of the Maritime and Logistics industry under one roof and proved to be an Excellent and Niche Networking platform. 

The Event concluded with Cocktails & Dinner.
