BEIJING: Fortune recently released its first China ESG Impact List, in which COSCO SHIPPING successfully secured a position.
The list is open for application by listed and non-listed Chinese companies. The 40 Chinese companies on the list have made outstanding efforts to improve the environment, protect employees and support community development. Of the 40 companies on this year’s list, 32 are Fortune 500 or Fortune China
500 companies, and their industry position means that the practice adopted by them will play a leading role throughout the entire Chinese business world.
ESG is short for Environmental, Social and Governance, which aims to encourage companies to consider the environmental and social impacts of their business practices as much as possible, and to engage more actively in addressing global challenges such as climate change, environmental pollution, wealth inequality and business ethics.
