Mumbai, 16th December 2023: Allcargo Terminals, an Allcargo Group company which runs one of India’s widest CFS-ICD networks, has announced that the operations at its Chennai CFS operations have been fully restored from the devastating impact of cyclone Michaung. The facility is currently running in full capacity to serve its customers.

All administrative and operations personnel worked relentlessly to reinstate all key operations including custom clearance at the CFS for the trade by December 9, 2023. The operations managers at the Chennai CFS closely worked with the local authorities to re-establish power in the fastest possible time. The Chennai CFS team also worked with the local authorities round-the-clock to clear the roads leading to the facility to ensure smooth inward and outward cargo transportations. The team has taken all the necessary steps to ensure de-stuffing of containers and export stuffing of cargo in containers remain unaffected.

Ramesh V, Facility Head – Chennai CFS, Allcargo Terminals Limited said, "We are pleased to announce that, thanks to the unwavering commitment and collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, our Chennai CFS has successfully bounced back swiftly from the impact of the recent cyclone. The strategic location of the CFS and its inbuilt safety features such as higher warehouse plinth level, better drainage, etc. proved to be critical advantages in this recovery process. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Customs, Port and vendors whose cooperation played a pivotal role in our resilient comeback. This collective effort showcases the strength of collaboration and reinforces our commitment to overcoming challenges together. We are truly grateful for the solidarity and support extended to us by all that made this recovery possible."
