Mumbai - The Directorate General of Maritime Administration (DGMA), vide DGMA Circular No. 47 of 2026 has issued an Advisory on Precautionary Measures for the Safety and Security of Indian Seafarers in view of the Heightened Security Situation in the Gulf Region.

Ship Owners, Ship Managers, and Recruitment and Placement Services Licence (RPSL) companies engaging or deploying Indian seafarers on vessels intending to undertake voyages through the Strait of Hormuz (SoH) shall obtain the consent of each individual Indian seafarer before undertaking such voyages and keep the DG Communication Centre (DGComm Centre) informed of the vessel's transit . . .
