Thiruvananthapuram - Kerala’s flagship deep-sea port project, the Vizhinjam International Seaport, has been conferred with the prestigious National Project Excellence Award 2025 in the Mega Infrastructure category, marking a major milestone for one of India’s most ambitious maritime developments.

The award recognises Vizhinjam’s strategic importance and its potential to transform Kerala into a global shipping and transshipment hub. Designed as a next-generation deep-water port, Vizhinjam is expected to play a critical role in strengthening India’s position in international maritime trade and reducing dependence on foreign transshipment ports.
